Contract Recruitment FAQS
What is contract recruitment?
Contract recruitment is the process of finding a temporary member of staff for a business or organisation. The chosen candidate will become an external contractor for the business on a contract that expires after a predetermined period. This could be anything from a few weeks to several months or longer.
What’s the difference between permanent and contract recruitment?
Whereas contract roles last for only the duration of the contract, permanent employees work on contracts with no fixed end date. This provides more long-term job security for the permanent employee. When it comes to recruiting for these different types of contracts, the processes are similar, but with differences in negotiation around contract length (relevant only for contractors) and pay (contract workers usually charge a day rate, whereas permanent employees are paid normally with an annual salary package.
What does a contract job type mean?
A contract job is one that may be seen as temporary or semi-permanent. The contract expires after a given time period, at which point the contractor then leaves the business. In some cases, the hiring business may offer another contract or contract extension, or even a permanent position.
What does a contract recruitment agency do?
A contract recruitment agency helps businesses to find and hire contractors to fill their contract vacancies. Often, recruitment agencies have a wide network of contractors, and can help businesses fill roles more quickly and efficiently.
