We are delighted at Digitalent to be able to bring you an opportunity to work for a fast growing and award winning video interview technology startup in Glasgow.

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the DevOps and infrastructural related activities within the business.  Their Engineering team is seeking a talented and outgoing DevOps Engineer to assist their programming team, designing and implementing pipelines, architecture and resiliency to their platforms.

The ideal candidate would be a friendly outgoing person with a passion for automation and learning about the latest techniques in the field to deliver solid, optimised and secure environments for programmers to leverage and the business to grow with.


Key responsibilities

  • Continually design and implement improvements of Continuous Delivery, automation pipelines, and security solutions using modern architecture patterns
  • Act as a technical authority on infrastructure, tooling and closely work with the programming team to prevent anti-patterns early in the development life cycle
  • Working with AWS Cloud Formation and other standard cloud tooling to automate and continuously improve on the development lifecycle
  • Provide monitoring, backups and security related expertise and implementations
  • Propose and enact improvements to the architecture on a proactive basis
  • Provide occasional support to clients encountering network issues where escalation occurs
  • Deliver standards compliant code


Applicants should have the following experience

  • 3+ years experience as a DevOps engineer, helping to define and automate processes
  • Strong end to end understanding of AWS Services like EC2, S3, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch, Opsworks, Lambda, build/release tools
  • Good experience in Linux system administration and networking
  • Experience working with DevOps pipeline related tooling like Docker
  • Kubernetes and ETCD experience would be highly desired but not essential
  • A broad knowledge of security concepts as it relates to DevOps
  • Experience writing shell scripts (Bash), Python and PowerShell for setting up baselines, branching, merging, and automation processes across the environments using GIT etc.
  • Deliver standards compliant code
  • Strong communication skills
