Data Protection Consultant

They work with best of breed software products and offer ongoing services to public, private and third sector organisations, helping to create, capture, store, manage, share and preserve information and data in a secure and compliant way.

This role requires someone with technical subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in Data Protection. You will help their clients with data protection and risk assessments, the design and set-up of advanced data protection solutions across multiple projects, catering to clients in a vast array of industries including Finance, Insurance, Legal, Pharma and Retail.

About the role:

As a Data Protection Consultant, you will provide high-quality advice to clients on all Data Protection issues and act as a Data Protection/Information Governance subject matter expert on complex projects, you will deliver effective and pragmatic policy-aligned solutions across the business and external clients.

Working closely with clients, the Consulting Director (DPO), the Implementation team, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, you will:

• Act as the main point of contact for clients on all Data Protections issues and operational decisions.
• Participate in multiple projects with strong business, consultancy, and technical skills.
• Participate in multiple engagements focused on the assessment, evaluation, and mitigation of security risks.
• Provide guidance and support that will strengthen technical/functional controls for both client and internal operations, improve business performance, and drive best practice.

 About you:

• Proven experience gained in a technology or services environment, preferably delivering data protection solutions in either finance, insurance, legal, pharma or retail.
• Experience of privacy and privacy management programmes as well as associated technology platforms (especially OneTrust)
• Experience and understanding of broader information governance disciplines
• Excellent knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation
• Experience of establishing and maintaining a risk management framework
• A strong working knowledge of general IT infrastructure.
• Experience in managing and delivering to customer expectations.
• Superior presentation and facilitation skills.
• Certification in Data protection
