VP of Engineering

The Company

Our client is a Series B funded startup with a game changing Climate Tech product.

The Role

We are looking for a VP of Engineering who can build, lead and scale development teams. As VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and reporting on all matters related to the development of the company's product. You will need to be able to solve the most complex technical problems and deliver on the technology strategy. You will work alongside senior executives to help define and deliver the product roadmap in a rapid growth, venture-backed organization. 

Measuring Success

Success in this role will be measured based on delivering a high quality, on time and on budget product roadmap. In addition, the role requires amazing leadership and management skills which will ensure alignment, creativity, and productivity within the development team(s). Your primary objective is to help others in your team succeed.

Reporting

The VP of Engineering reports to the CEO in the interim.

The Candidate

• You have 5+ years experience in software engineering with at least 2 years experience in a leadership role (Director, VP, CTO).
• You have experience managing remote teams. 
• You have deep experience in designing and building software infrastructure.
• You have a history of building and scaling teams in high growth environments.
• You are an expert full stack developer. 

This role will be a hands on technical leadership role involving some coding in the first 6-12 months. As the team grows and the company scales, the role will transform into a purely leadership role with less time spent  on technical (coding) tasks.
